9-3 Masoko

JP, Dick and I were to walk to the Minkebe kamp from the Masoko landing stage (around 10 km from Masoko itself) in 3 to 4 days with a flanking movement. Nazer and Serufin were to go there by boat. The first morning's walk went fine. After a particular fork (point 25), the path that JP thought he was following came to an end.

Back at the fork we came across Mokambo and his men and they advised us to go with them to Masoko for the night. A discussion ensued about how we should proceed (see what went wrong). Mokambo should have guided us to the Minkebe camp in that 3 or 4 days. His wife demanded half the fee in advance - she received a quarter. Once the remaining three quarters was paid at Minkebe camp it was converted to drink.
