Jean-Paul
Guide, JP is a Bakwele. He was involved with Michael Fay's expedition through Minkebe and was a total of 7 months en-route to the coast with Fay. Moreover our route should lead to the so-called Minkebe camp, a prospectors' camp somewhere in the middle of the forest where JP had worked for nine years. It is about the only place where people live in an area about as large as Belgium. Later it turned out that JP had only worked as a porter with Fay and he did not know the area further than 10 km from the gold prospectors' camp. This was a rather ironic target - to go to the only place where people lived - when the forest was the purpose of our expedition.
Nazer
Boatman, also Bakwele. Not really skilful, but very friendly.
Serufin
Helper, also Bakwele. Reliable and never caught plastered. In his role as navigator instructed how to sail. The Nouna is capricious with lots of swamps and tributaries that lead nowhere.
Mokambo
Guide for 2 days from Masoko to the Minkebe camp. Around 10 years ago Benoit Mokambo and his father and nephew discovered gold at the location where Minkebe camp later originated. The man knew the forest really well, but as a person was a bit of a jerk. Apparently he was leader at the camp for a number of years, but then he left for reasons unknown to us. After discovering gold again, this time in Masoko, he began a new colony, where of course he is once again in charge.
Robert
Resident / gold prospector in the colony at Masoko. Carried Dick's load from Masoko to Minkebe camp. That was included in the price, but it turned out later that not everyone agreed.
Mathon
Team leader, also responsible for communication and contacts. Had previously been to the Cameroon jungle, but remained in Campo the last time when it became really interesting. To progress further, another mission and the accompanying gear would be required. Next to him.
Dick
Responsible for hardware, such as photo/video equipment and camping gear. Also did practically all the camera work. Gained tropical rainforest experience in the Amazon area and made short expeditions there. That is where he got the taste for more. Next to him.
