The survivalexpedition with the KMA, 8 - 26 april 2007

Five cadets of the KMA (Royal Military Academy in Breda, Holland) and their captain wanted to get some practical experience in the jungle. Together with them we drew up a program for this, covering a number of learning objectives as well as taking into account some relaxation. The objectives were for example navigating in heavy area using compass/GPS/map, clearing obstacles in difficult circumstances, discovering personal possibilities and boundaries, tracing of wildlife and identification of tracks, recognition of risks, teambuilding. As expected, much was learned from our local guides.

The goal of this trip was to follow a route through the southern part of Loango National Park in 16 days. This way we would roughly spend the first half of the time in the forest and after that go back to the starting point along the beach.
