13/14-3 The Bindoum and the Nouna

The river Bindoum that flows into the Nouna is 2 km from Minkebe camp. Our boat was moored there. That morning with some difficulty we persuaded everyone to get moving again, Pobalas saw us off, and we eventually left. We were happy to be underway again with our own team - certainly Dick and myself. The fallen trees made it more difficult than on the Nouna, but we sailed without the engine and it was breathtaking. We did not reach Masoko landing stage. We built our own tent frame in the evening.

Next morning it started to rain. Dick's singing and yelling kept our spirits up, but in spite of that we were literally rained out of the Nouna. Lunch around the fire was cheerful. By evening we had reached the spot where we had stopped for the night a week earlier.
