In the afternoon, Akoro, Balfou and Bertrand began to hack at a large dead tree with their machetes. They had seen a bees' nest at the top of the tree. The tree came down quite quickly and the nest was smoked and emptied. Large slices of filled honeycomb were removed from the hollow trunk by hand. We ate the honey along with the comb. Really delicious.
After dark we caught some nice catfish with the fishing equipment that I had distributed. The fish were cleaned and cooked with onions, salt and oil for breakfast with coffee the next day.
The plan was to aim for Konossoville from here and to stay longer at nice places. We will not make it to the sources of the Mvoung IV. We are happy that the regime of daily marches is over. Just 42 km from Konossoville and with still 17 days to go we can relax a little.
