On the path the following day I was so startled that I almost pushed Timo over. Akoro had just walked through a bush where a brownish green venomous snake was hanging. I saw it before I followed him, which explained my shock. Akoro could not understand why he had not seen the snake and laughed rather sheepishly. He wanted to cut off the snake's head as they usually do. On this occasion I managed to prevent that. We were warned not to approach too closely as this species was capable of an explosive attack. This could be up to half a body length and I had no intention of taking any unnecessary risks.
