We sail up the Ivindo river until a bifurcation, next we are taking a little tributary river, the Oua. After about 50 km we pitch our tents for the first time along the river. The guides level an area for our tents, look for dead wood for the fire and fetch water. This will be a daily recurring ritual.
Towards the end of the second day we arrive at the point on the Oua, where we will be starting to walk the following day, we will be calling this spot the 'grasscamp'. We have a satellitetelephone with us for cases of emergency, but the capacity of the batteries allow us to call home for 5 minutes per person per day. Tonight is Diana's turn.
